Ivana Pranjic, January – June 2018

I was an intern at Mariscal Abogados from January to June 2018. Before obtaining my degree at the Faculty of Law, University of Rijeka, I chose to go abroad and do my internship in a foreign country in an international law office. In search of international law practice I found Mariscal Abogados thanks to great reviews written by former interns which drew my attention. I applied for it immediately.

During my 5 months stay here I got in touch with various fields of law like corporate, commercial, labor, IP, M&A and others. In the beginning I was mostly doing translations (Spanish to English) which helped me improve my (legal) language skills in both Spanish and English. With time my tasks were broadened to legal research (case law), preparing all kinds of legal documents (claims, contracts, proposals), analysing legal topics (due diligence) and participating in events. The lawyers at the firm were always ready to help, explain, answer my questions and give advice on any issue I was dealing with. What I appreciate the most from my time here is the professional and friendly atmosphere and working with other interns from different countries who made my stay so memorable.

The practice fulfilled my expectations and beyond and I would definitely recommend it to all law students who want to gain valuable experience in different areas of law.
