Mariscal Abogados advises NEUCA Group on the acquisition of Spanish CRO leader Experior

August, 2020. Mariscal Abogados has provided legal counsel to Poland-based NEUCA Group in connection with its acquisition of Experior, a leading Contract Research Organisation (CRO) operating in Spain and several major European markets. This strategic transaction marks a significant step in NEUCA’s continued expansion across the clinical research sector, following recent investments in Germany and Ukraine.

Experior has been active in the Spanish market for nearly two decades, building a strong reputation and operational presence across Spain, Italy, France, the United Kingdom and the Benelux region. Its long-standing expertise in clinical trial management and regulatory compliance has positioned the company as a trusted partner for sponsors seeking high-quality, multi-jurisdictional clinical research capabilities.

By acquiring Experior, NEUCA Group gains access to more than 50 clinical hospitals and several million patients, significantly enhancing its ability to conduct large-scale, multicentre clinical studies. The transaction also allows NEUCA to strengthen its competencies in biostatistics and broaden its portfolio of innovative technological solutions dedicated to clinical research.

A key competitive advantage of NEUCA’s Clinical Research division lies in its integrated technology ecosystem, which unifies both SMO (Site Management Organisation) and CRO functions. This integration ensures real-time, high-quality data delivery for research sponsors and enhances the efficiency, accuracy and reliability of clinical trial operations.

In recent months, Pratia — NEUCA Group’s network of clinical research centres — has initiated collaborations with over 50 hospital facilities in Spain to jointly conduct clinical trials. The acquisition of Experior further consolidates NEUCA’s footprint in the Spanish market and reinforces its strategy of developing a comprehensive, pan-European clinical research infrastructure.

The legal team at Mariscal Abogados advising NEUCA Group was led by partner Alberto Álvarez, supported by senior associate Irene Terrazas, both of whom bring extensive experience in cross-border M&A and life sciences transactions.
