Shareholders’ Attendance at General Meetings in Spain

According to Article 179 of the Companies Act, shareholders of Limited Liability Companies (S.L. in Spanish) may attend general meetings. The bylaws governing the company cannot establish a minimum number of represented shares to attend the general meeting.

In Corporations (S.A. in Spanish), the bylaws may fix a minimum number of represented shares to attend general meetings. However, that number cannot be more than one thousandth of the share capital.
