Spain adopts measures to ease and promote the rental housing market

The publication on June 5 in the Official Gazette of the Law 4/2013, of June 4, with measures to ease and promote the rental housing market seeks the improvement of the rental market so that rates of rent in Spain become similar to the European average.

The text gives greater freedom of covenant in the drafting of contracts for rental housing and, among other changes such as reducing the minimum duration of leases, facilitates the recovery of the housing by the owner and the withdrawal of tenant.
